Having faced fear many times, Goldstein has learnt that no matter how genuine the actual danger we confront may be, we have two choices: fight or flight. Yet, some of us have fallen into a third, much more dangerous category, by simply freezing. We do nothing, and therefore risk neither failure or success.

As a little girl Leah wanted to be Bruce Lee and became the World Kickboxing champion at 17. Leah then set her sights on the Israeli Defence Force and became the first female Commando instructor in a male dominated climate. When part of Leah’s anti-terrorism squad were brutally murdered, she was released from the Israeli Military to pursue her pro cycling dream. After a decade of perseverance and successes (and several horrendous crashes),she set her sights on ultra-distance races. As a rookie, she placed first in the 2011 women’s solo division of the world’s most arduous 3000-mile, single-stage cycling competition, Race Across America. In 2021, at 52 years old, Leah has made history as the first female to WIN the overall SOLO Division in the 39-year history of Race Across America. Full of tragedies and triumphs, crashes and podiums, Leah Goldstein's life has been a long series of fights and even a few flights. Her fascinating story is not about being fearless but about being unstoppable.
